Comparison of the OSDI Questionnaire, the Tear Film Break-up Time and Schirmer Tests for the Evaluation of Tear Film in Computer users and Contact Lenses without Dry Eye Symptoms

Aims: To compare the diagnostic values of OSDI, Schirmer’s and tear film breakup time test to check for dry eye in healthy adult students using computers contact lenses.
 Methodology: Our sample consisted hundred (100) eyes from fifty (50) adults aged 18-24 years at University West Attica (25 participants were lens wearers, while remaining 25 not). All exposed a computer screen or mobile screen. Qualitative measurement was performed with Tear Break-Up Time Test (TBUT), quantitative tears Schirmer use Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI).
 Results: During analysis results, it found that OSDI inversely proportional TBUT test. 60% did not have eye, 34% had mild 4% moderate 2% severe eye. Α statistically significant relationship existed between other variables as well (p-value <0.05).
 Conclusion: The questionnaire, used conjunction test, easy perform could be helpful supporting diagnosis syndrome.
